Term 2 Update Posted: 4 months 2 weeks ago

The topic ‘Sacraments of Healing’ is providing a great starting point for many interesting discussions in RE. We are exploring our relationship with God and the importance of keeping it reconciled and how to live our lives in balance.

‘Refuge’, an intriguing novel by Jackie French, is like solving a puzzle as we continually search for clues to help us to understand the concept of refuge.  We are looking at the significance of having a refuge in our lives.  Our writing is getting an overhaul through ‘Sizzling Starters’ and soon we will be moving onto ‘Tightening Tension’. We are exploring techniques to achieve these.

Whether we are in our class groups or our Flexible Learning Groups, Maths is always enjoyable as well as challenging. In Geography we will be exploring the impact mankind has had on the Great Barrier Reef, in the unit ‘Factors that Shape Places.’

‘Keeping Safe’, our Personal Development and Health topic will have all of us thinking about our actions. Basketball, Shot Put and Gymnastics will provide a range of sporting experiences for us this term.

Fibre art, printing and mosaics are the techniques we are learning about in visual arts. Then we are looking forward to using body percussion during music lessons to compare and contrast chaos and refuge.  By Year 6
