Dear Parents and Carers,
On Sunday the season of Advent began. Advent is an exciting time for us all as we prepare our homes and hearts for the celebration of Christmas. As Catholic people we spend this time preparing to commemorate the birth of Jesus. Christmas is so much more than giving and receiving presents, it is about becoming more aware of the presence of God in our lives.
Many of us have Advent Calendars and advent wreaths in our homes. The Advent Wreath is a significant part of Advent and has three purple candles and one pink candle. Each week a new candle is lit and a different Advent prayer is said each week.
I am sure your house is full of excitement with the beginning preparations for Christmas, including putting up your Christmas Tree and listening to Christmas Carols. Some houses even have a cheeky elf. I hope that you and your family will embrace this Advent Season and that it is filled with anticipation and joy.
Cooking with Mrs Hunt
Congratulations to Will, Miah, Zakh, Roman and Sienna who chose cooking as their PBS reward. We had a great time making lots of yummy treats, including fruit kebabs, fruit santas and chocolate spiders.
Christmas Hamper Food Drive
Thankyou to all families who have been able to contribute to the Christmas Food Hamper Drive for the Community Kitchen. We look forward to welcoming Sue Abdoo to our school on Thursday to collect our donations and I am so pleased that we have been able to contribute as a school community to people in need within our community.

Fostering these traits involves creating an environment that encourages children to take risks, learn from their mistakes, and celebrate their achievements. Confidence is built when children feel capable and valued, while motivation is fuelled by the belief that their efforts will lead to growth and success. By actively supporting both, we can help young people thrive in the academic, social, and personal areas of their life.
By offering positive reinforcement, setting realistic expectations, and celebrating their efforts, we can model a positive mindset that can go a long way in helping young people develop both confidence and motivation. Nurturing these qualities, will help them grow into self-assured individuals who believe in their ability to succeed, setting the foundation for a fulfilling future.

Please join me in the Advent Wreath Prayer for Week 1.
Dear Jesus, you are the hope in our messy world. This Advent, help us slow down, listen to your voice, and focus on what is really important. We place our hope in you as we prepare our hearts to celebrate your birth on Christmas.
Amen
God Bless
