Principal’s Report

Amazingly we are half way through Term 3 and quickly racing towards the end of another educational, spiritual, social and fun term. What is happening soon? Well, next week our Year 3 & 5 students will be participating in the trial NAPLAN Online on the 27th, 28th & 29th August. We will end next week with our Father’s Day Breakfast @7.30 and P&F stall. Then in Week 7 on the 3rd September we have our next P&F meeting @5.30pm, all welcome; Grandparents Liturgy on the 6th September and Pupil free on 7th September. Thank you to parents, staff and students for supporting Book Week and more importantly continuing to promote a love of reading.

Bishops of Australia to hold a Plenary Council for the Church of Australia. This is an important and significant moment for our church and our diocese. The Plenary Council provides us with an opportunity to listen to God and each other, to share our stories, to respect and hold our difference, and to be transformed and expanded by what we hear. The agenda for the Plenary Council will be created through our listening and dialogue in response to the question:

What do you think God is asking of us in Australia at this time?

There hasn’t been a Plenary Council since the early 1900’s so this is significant for us all in this time. Do you have to be Catholic to have your say? No, this council is for anyone to have input so that all voices are being heard. To learn more about the Plenary Council you can go this following link:

There will be opportunities to participate in group responses over the next 6 months or alternatively you can go to the link below and submit your own responses.

Last Sunday we had a group of students make their First Holy Communion and it was a time of great joy as their connection with Jesus was strengthened through the receiving of Eucharist. We are so very proud of their achievement and a big thank you to Mrs Jo McEwen for the wonderful catering job, the Parish, parents and staff for supporting the Sacramental Program.

A big congratulations must go to Ann McDermott and the P&F for ensuring that our school canteen meets the new requirements from the NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy as we have achieved a ‘healthy school canteen’ with our new menu. We will begin our new menu in Term 4, so stay tuned for updates and information to come.

Have a wonderful weekend!

God Bless
