Prime Minister Award

‘ Being a steward of creation’, ‘trying your best’, ‘speaking with kindness’ and ‘ being a responsible learner’ are some of the qualities that teachers consider when awarding ‘Prime Minister’ at our weekly assembly. It is an acknowledgement of the student’s efforts and they have the privilege of wearing the badge with honour, of suggesting a focus the school can work on, award Gotchas to other students at lunch time as well as earning Gotchas for themselves.  Congratulations to Sienna Lapi-an, Week 6 and Willow Eijkman, Week 7.

Year 5 and 6 – NSW Primary Schools CPR Awareness Program

On Tuesday, students in Year 5 and Year 6 took part in the NSW Primary Schools CPR Awareness Program. This program, funded by the Royal Life Saving Society, helps students learn the vital skills of CPR and have the knowledge to perform effective CPR, both around water and in the general community. The program also ensures all students have a sound understanding and knowledge on how to perform an emergency response plan in a time of need. Our students are part of over 35 000 students to date who have taken part in this program.

As you can see the students had an enjoyable time whilst learning a skill they can have for life…..

We are so appreciative of the generous donations of pre-loved books and plants we have recieved so far!
A note has been sent out asking for parent helpers to volunteer for the stall.

If you are unable to help, you can still show your support by bringing the kids along to browse our stall or to have their face painted! It will be a great day out and we look forward to seeing you there!

National Simultaneous Storytime

On Wednesday 19th of May we joined over 1.8 million children from all over Australia and New Zealand for the National Simultaneous Storytime. This year the book Give Me Some Space written by Phillip Bunting was read by astronaut Shannon Walker from the International Space Station.

We sat in the hall, and we were all astonished to see the book floating in space!  After that we learnt how to moonwalk...Michael Jackson style! While doing the moon walk, we had so much fun. Thanks to Ms Monkley we were able to do this fun activity.
