Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

On Friday, we gathered as a school community to celebrate the cherished role of grandparents during our Grandparents’ Day Liturgy, beautifully led by our Year 5 students.

Grandparents hold a special place in the hearts and lives of our children. In the life of Jesus, His grandparents—Saint Joachim and Saint Anne, the parents of Mary—serve as quiet yet powerful examples of love and faith. Though the Bible offers limited details about them, the grace and devotion with which Mary lived her life speaks volumes about the values they instilled in her.

Grandparents’ Day is a meaningful opportunity to honour the wisdom, love, and life lessons our grandparents share with us. Their stories and guidance continue to shape and inspire generations.

Book Week Celebrations

A heartfelt thank you to Ms Monkley for orchestrating a fantastic Book Week celebration at our school!

Our students enjoyed a rich variety of activities, including virtual author talks, interactive online experiences, library competitions, and of course, the much-loved Book Fair and Book Week Parade.

While the weather didn’t cooperate, leading to the postponement of our Pre-School Story Circles, we’re excited to announce they’ve been rescheduled for Wednesday, 11th September. We look forward to welcoming our local pre-schools for a joyful afternoon filled with literacy-based fun and storytelling.

Dance-a-thon

A big thank you to Mrs Cleaver, Mrs Lapi-an, and our amazing Year 6 students for leading the school in a fun-filled Dance-a-thon!

Everyone had a fantastic time moving and grooving to the energetic songs Year 6 has been sharing with us during our Health Hustle sessions.

We’re also incredibly grateful to all the families who have contributed sponsorship money. Your generosity is helping us raise funds for a brand-new portable outdoor shelter, which will be a wonderful addition to our outside events.

Cooking with Mrs Hunt

Congratulations to Asta who chose cooking with Mrs Hunt for her PB4L reward. She enjoyed making some mini ham and cheese pizzas to share with her class.

NAIDOC Combined Schools event
Last week our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students attended the AECG Combined Schools NAIDOC event at Chatham High School.
Thankyou to Aunty Kylie for your organisation on this important day. A special congratulations to our talented dancers who proudly performed alongside other schools.
A beautiful way to celebrate cuture, identity and community.
Our infants cultural dance group recently travelled to Yulinbal school to participate in their NAIDOC ceremonies.  It is wonderful that our children are able to represent our school in the wider community and share their culture.  Our children had a lovely morning joining the school in morning tea and activities.

Please join me in a prayer for our grandparents.

 God,

Thank You for the gift of our grandparents, who have lovingly guided us through the years with wisdom, strength, and care.

Bless them in all that they do and may they always feel the deep love and support of their families surrounding them.

Amen.

God Bless
