Principal's Report
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am not sure about you, but this term has flown by!
Sadly this week we farewelled Mrs Carol Saul. Carol has been a much loved and treasured member of staff at St Joseph’s for the past 25 years. She has helped approximately 2500 students while she has been at our school and has been a wonderful Learning Support Aide. Carol has decided to retire and we wish her all the best in the next chapter of her life, our school will miss her terribly.
Family Engagement Meeting
Our Family Engagement Meeting has now been scheduled for Thursday the 22nd of March from 6.30pm till 7.30pm in our school library. We would love to see you come along and have a say in the direction of our school.
Pupil Free Day
Please note that the first day of Term 2, Monday the 19th of April will be a Pupil Free Day. Our teachers will be undertaking Professional Learning in the Religious Education Curriculum and the Religious Literacy of our students.
The National Catholic Safeguarding Standards
At St Joseph’s we are committed to building a child-safe culture and to advance the safety of children and vulnerable adults. There are 10 National Safeguarding Standards which we are expected to comply in, these include:
- Committed leadership, governance and culture
- Children are safe, informed and participate
- Partnering with families, carers and communities
- Equity is promoted and diversity is respected
- Robust human resource management
- Effective complaints management
- Ongoing education and training
- Safe physical and online environments
- Continuous improvement
- Policies and procedures support child safety
Child safety and protection is of paramount importance and something that we work hard to achieve at our school.
Stage 1 of the Mud Kitchen
Last week the first part of our new mud kitchen was installed. Our children are really enjoying the transformation of the playground and new play spaces. Kinder have had a ball making sand milkshakes, cakes and all sorts of goodies.

Easter Hat Parade and Liturgy
Today for our last day of term we celebrated our Easter Liturgy. We then worked on creating some fantastic Easter Hats for our Easter Hat Parade. We are so happy to be welcoming back our parents onto the grounds and were so glad that you could join us for the parade and raffle draw. Thank you to all of the families that supported our Year 6 fundraising efforts. Congratulations to our raffle winners;
Will Irwin (K), Mrs Minett and Ben Linehan (Yr 1)

Enrolments now open
Our Kinder 2022 enrolments are now open, if you are planning on sending your child to Kinder next year or know someone who is interested in coming to our beautiful school please contact the office for a school tour with Mrs Hunt and an enrolment pack.
Please join me in saying a prayer for all of those who are not celebrating Easter the way that they had hoped this year.
